Disputes protect jobs paid with escrow. A job you paid directly (escrow off, or cash on completion) can't be disputed.
When you can open one
- Within 72 hours after the pro marks the job complete, or
- if the pro didn't show up: once the scheduled time has passed and the job is still hired or in progress.
How to open one
- Open the job and tap Open a dispute.
- Describe what wasn't done as agreed (20 to 3,000 characters).
- Attach up to 10 photos.
- Tap Submit to arbitration.
Your chat log with the pro is added automatically as evidence.
What happens next
- The money in escrow is frozen while an arbitrator reviews the case. The notice says a decision comes within three business days (Monday to Friday).
- You and the pro can each add a statement while the case is open.
- A YCD arbitrator decides: release the money to the pro, refund you, split it, or refund part of it.
- You both get the ruling and the reason.
If you're refunded, the money goes back the way you paid: to your card, or to your YCD Wallet if you paid from it.
For pros
If something goes wrong on a job, tap Report a problem on the job. Support reviews it. Filing a report doesn't freeze the escrow; it's frozen only if the report turns into a dispute. The chat log is attached automatically.
